As a person with Asthma I found this device and demonstration very interesting. It’s amazing what simple little things can make a world of difference for some. They’re waiting for FDA approval, but I wonder if they have a way to measure the impact that this little device is going to have in the developing world.

I’ve a sweet spot for vehicle conversions. Keith, of Keith’s Electronics blog has bought himself a school but and is in the process of converting it. To what I’m not sure. However in his travels probably for inspiration he’s come across this interesting conversion from down under. I think I just might be a sucker for the unbridled freedom that this would provide.

This site has a transistor clock. Made with no IC’s! Just tons of transister, diodes, capacitors and resistors. Amazing, I’d love to build something like this I don’t know I have the patience.

I’ve read and seen a good number of sites dedicated to mirco loans. Kiva – Loans that change lives is one of those that helps to give small loans to people in developing countries. A number of these loans are collaboration loans where multiple lenders are building up to the total amount. It’s an interesting situation where technology has helped to get these people the funds necessary to change their lives.

Sugar and Yeast Power Generator

Here’s an interesting prototype of a generator using rotational motion, powered by sugar and yeast. It sounds like it just causes an imbalance in the system and gravity does the rest. I don’t think that he’s hooked a generator up to it yet, but it’s still an interesting concept. I’m powered by sugar and yeast also, but people just tell me I have a drinking problem, they don’t thank me for bringing power to the poor masses.
