Kiva - Loans that change lives

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

I’ve read and seen a good number of sites dedicated to mirco loans. Kiva - Loans that change lives is one of those that helps to give small loans to people in developing countries. A number of these loans are collaboration loans where multiple lenders are building up to the total amount. […]

Here’s an interesting visualization called Follow the Oil Money. It shows you the relationships of the presidential candidates to oil money. Very nice.

How Americans spend their money.

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Here is an interesting graph made by The New York times. It’s a break down of how Americans spend their money across income groups. I found the tax areas particularly interesting. It seems that it’s very true that you have a hump to get over before your taxes actually go down. […]

However, what a president like Ron Paul could accomplish would be questionable given the resistence he would probably get from Congress. Seems to not be […]

In this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

I don’t usually post about things like this, but this latest Perpetual Motion machine is making it’s rounds. I find the concept interesting, but mostly impossible. If there is some breakthrough it’s probably going to be some efficiency increases in inductive motors. Now that’s not a bad thing considering we want to […]
